DESCRIPTION:Each year\, Free Museum Day draws thousands of Sacramento County area residents and visitors to local museums to experience the fascinating art\, culture\, and history of the region. In 2021\, the collaborative group of Sacramento Museums went entirely virtual with Free Museum Month for the safety of our guests and museum staff. For 2022\, we will present a hybrid event by hosting an exciting Free Museum Weekend (March 5 & 6) where guests will be able to choose to visit their favorite museum(s) in-person and/or through online virtual activities (space is limited and advance tickets are required for free admission). Not all museums are participating on both days of the event. \nAll guests must pre-register for free admission\, otherwise\, regular admission fees will apply. \nDelta Museums include the Locke Boarding House Museum and the Sacramento Regional Fire Museum as well as many museums that share the region’s history such as the State Indian Museum\, California Agriculture Museum\, and more! \nBring the whole family to enjoy the art and history of the Delta!

DESCRIPTION:To celebrate the 100th birthday of Sacramento’s most renowned artist\, the Crocker Art Museum presents Wayne Thiebaud 100: Paintings\, Prints\, and Drawings. Best known for his tantalizing paintings of cakes and pies\, Thiebaud has long been affiliated with Pop art\, though his body of work is far more expansive. This exhibition represents the artist’s achievements in all media\, with pieces drawn from the Crocker’s holdings and from the collection of the Thiebaud family—many of which\, until now\, have never been shown publicly. \nThe exhibit closes on January 3\, 2021. Please visit the museum’s website for admission prices and for the hours and times the museum is open. This exhibition represents the artist’s achievements in all media\, with pieces drawn from the Crocker’s holdings and from the collection of the Thiebaud family—many of which\, until now\, have never been shown publicly. \nThe exhibit closes on January 3\, 2021. Reservations are required and space is very limited with only 24 total spots available. Dates are both October 3 & 4 with stomp times at 11:00 am\, 1:00pm\, and 3pm.
