DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with International Bat Night\, this will be a day to learn about inviting bats to your yard or farm! \nThe event will include an opportunity to build a bat house and a live viewing of several native species of bats. Yolo Basin Conservancy will provide the supplies and instruction and you will supply the people power. The event is held at the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area’s headquarters and demonstration wetlands. Registration is by bat house. This workshop is limited to 10 groups. Each group can have up to four people building a bat house together. The cost is $75.

DESCRIPTION:Starting July 1 through September 25\nDays and times vary \nLearn about one of the Delta’s amazing migratory species! One of the largest colonies of Mexican free-tailed bats takes up residence under the Yolo Causeway during the summer. Learn about these beneficial creatures in an online presentation in advance of your view date and then head out on a tour to watch them in action as they stream out just after sunset. You will have your own socially-distanced Pod Square for viewing. \nEach Pod Square will be $50 and can have up to 4 people (not including those 3 years old or younger). Once you register for your Bat Walk date\, you will receive an email with a link to register for your virtual Bat Talk. The Bat Talk is included in your registration. DESCRIPTION:Spring is a wonderful time to get outdoors and explore your local wetlands. Yolo Basin Foundation is hosting a family fun scavenger hunt! Find your way around the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area using the provided Scavenger Hunt Map\, labeled with the scavenger hunt stations. At each station\, you will have a clue to solve\, then hop out of your car to search the back of existing signs and posts for information about the amazing plants and animals that depend on these wetlands. Visit at least five stations to enter the prize drawing. You can submit a hard copy of the form\, filling it out by pencil or you can fill it out electronically on your smartphone or tablet as you go. \nFor the directions\, map and more information to participate\, visit the event website or call Yolo Basin Foundation at (530) 757-3780. A $10 donation to support the Foundation’s wetland education programs is suggested. Yolo Basin Foundation members are free. The scavenger hunt is open from March 20 to April 11.
