DESCRIPTION:Starting July 1 through September 25\nDays and times vary \nLearn about one of the Delta’s amazing migratory species! One of the largest colonies of Mexican free-tailed bats takes up residence under the Yolo Causeway during the summer. Learn about these beneficial creatures in an online presentation in advance of your view date and then head out on a tour to watch them in action as they stream out just after sunset. You will have your own socially-distanced Pod Square for viewing. \nEach Pod Square will be $50 and can have up to 4 people (not including those 3 years old or younger). Once you register for your Bat Walk date\, you will receive an email with a link to register for your virtual Bat Talk. The Bat Talk is included in your registration. SUMMARY:Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area Scavenger Hunt
DESCRIPTION:Spring is a wonderful time to get outdoors and explore your local wetlands. Yolo Basin Foundation is hosting a family fun scavenger hunt! Find your way around the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area using the provided Scavenger Hunt Map\, labeled with the scavenger hunt stations. At each station\, you will have a clue to solve\, then hop out of your car to search the back of existing signs and posts for information about the amazing plants and animals that depend on these wetlands. Visit at least five stations to enter the prize drawing. You can submit a hard copy of the form\, filling it out by pencil or you can fill it out electronically on your smartphone or tablet as you go. \nFor the directions\, map and more information to participate\, visit the event website or call Yolo Basin Foundation at (530) 757-3780. A $10 donation to support the Foundation’s wetland education programs is suggested. Yolo Basin Foundation members are free. The scavenger hunt is open from March 20 to April 11.

Best known for his tantalizing paintings of cakes and pies\, Thiebaud has long been affiliated with Pop art\, though his body of work is far more expansive. This exhibition represents the artist’s achievements in all media\, with pieces drawn from the Crocker’s holdings and from the collection of the Thiebaud family—many of which\, until now\, have never been shown publicly. \nThe exhibit closes on January 3\, 2021. Please visit the museum’s website for admission prices and for the hours and times the museum is open. As Sacramento County has temporarily closed museums for public access as of 11/13/2020\, please check the museum website for updates on reopening.

There will also be a selection of photo essays from Soundings\, a Bay-Delta regional publication focusing on art\, culture and the environment. Each photograph or series will be accompanied by short narratives telling the stories behind the images. \nThe exhibit opens on November 19 and closes on February 7\, 2021.
