Join Cosumnes River Preserve docents on a guided 3.5-mile hike along the River Walk Trail and discover the natural and cultural history of this unique landscape.

This hike will take you back to the days when the Plains Miwok inhabited the lands surrounding the Cosumnes River. Along the way, you’ll learn about the plants and animals they interacted with and the unique ways they utilized the land as part of their everyday lives.
The route covers approximately 3.5 miles on relatively flat terrain. Participants who do not wish to complete the entire distance may turn around at any time. This is a great family-friendly activity for all ages!
Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy walking shoes. There is no potable water available along the trail, so be sure to bring all the water you will need for the hike.
