Caswell Memorial State Park
Located along the Stanislaus River near the town of Ripon, California, Caswell Memorial State Park contains a threatened riparian oak woodland of the type that once flourished throughout the Central Valley. Among the endangered species that call the park home is the riparian brush rabbit, known to exist only in the park’s particular environment.
The Stanislaus River wends its way through the almost 300-acre park offering plenty of opportunities for fishing, swimming, and camping. The park is also known for its nature trails that give visitors the chance to see resident birds, such as red-shouldered and red-tailed hawks, and other critters.
